Morningside Bungalow Remodel & Addition

This home for a gardener was lovingly renovated and added onto in the past, but lacked the space craved most, a main floor potting area and powder room. Parisian hotels were the inspiration for this addition and the charge was to make this space as elegant as the rest of the home. This small addition cleverly created multi-use spaces with new access to the pool deck from both the lower level laundry and main levels.

The potting area is used not only for seed starting, it has also been used as al fresco dining space, pool changing room, dog washing area as well as being ready to go as a main floor bath for an aging in place scenario. A patinaed metal potting counter, custom stained glass french door and full height windows are some of the features of the addition.

The living room and dining rooms were remodeled to add additional flow throughout the main floor and include new bookcases and a generous window seat looking out onto the pool.

The lower level, light filled, laundry also opens onto the pool deck, to allow for easy access for freshly washed towels and additional winter garden supply storage.
